Rachida Dati at the campsite with Fabien Onteniente to unveil her "Cultural Summer 2025"

After the red carpet and the glitz of Cannes, Rachida Dati is heading camping. The Minister of Culture unveiled her plan to democratize access to culture this Friday, May 23. She is launching "Cultural Summer 2025" this Friday from the La Marina campsite in Canet-en-Roussillon in the Pyrénées Orientales, alongside Fabien Onteniente , director of the hugely popular Camping film trilogy.
"More than 500 events will be offered in campsites across France in conjunction with the National Federation of Outdoor Hotels (FNHPA)," the ministry said in a press release.
Rachida Dati wants to bring culture to campsites by funding projects such as open-air concerts, circus workshops, film screenings, etc. All of these events will be free to the public.
In a message published this Friday on X, the minister welcomed the fact that "campsites are becoming the biggest cultural stages for the first time! Theater, music, screenings, dance, traveling exhibitions... Hundreds of activities and shows to accompany vacationers, for a summer of discoveries, emotions and sharing!"
The promotional campaign for this "cultural summer 2025" is therefore based on the personality of Patrick Chirac, the hero of the Camping trilogy, played by Franck Dubosc.
The operation, which has existed since 2020 and consists of taking culture out of traditional cultural venues, is therefore focusing this year on campsites, the main holiday destination for the French according to the National Federation of Outdoor Hotels.
Among the projects presented this Friday at the La Marina campsite, the Caravane des couleurs will consist of eight vehicles personalized by artists, and will offer introductory graphic arts workshops in campsites in Occitanie.
In the Grand Est region, the "Caravan of Young Summer Visitors," featuring young artists, including young children's authors and illustrators, will set up camp in around thirty campsites to offer "aperitif shows."
In the Pays de la Loire, open-air cinema sessions are on the programme.
